The Friendswood ISD Education Foundation (FEF) welcomed the district’s newest staff members with its annual New Employee Luncheon on Friday, August 1, at the Lone Star Flight Museum. This year’s event embraced the vibrant theme of a Mexican Fiesta, filling the venue with lively colors, festive décor, and an atmosphere of celebration.

Nearly 315 attendees—including new employees, mentor teachers, district leaders, and community supporters—gathered to enjoy an afternoon of connection and inspiration. Guests were treated to a delicious lunch, door prize giveaways, and uplifting messages from featured speakers Brooke Holtvluwer and Superintendent Thad Roher, who shared encouraging words about the journey ahead for FISD’s newest team members.

“We are thrilled to welcome such an incredible group of educators and staff to the Friendswood ISD family,” said Ashley Adair, Executive Director of the Friendswood ISD Education Foundation. “Their passion and dedication will no doubt have a lasting impact on our students and community.”

Event chair Suzanne Banfield echoed this sentiment, stating, “The luncheon truly reflected the warmth and support that defines our district. It was wonderful to see everyone come together to celebrate and welcome our new employees.”

The success of the event was made possible through the dedication of the New Employee Luncheon Committee, led by chairs Suzanne Banfield and Stacy Condon, whose thoughtful planning created a memorable experience for all. FEF also extends its deepest gratitude to Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union, the Title Sponsor of the luncheon, for their generous support and continued commitment to education.

As Friendswood ISD kicks off the 2025–2026 school year, the district and the Education Foundation are excited to see the contributions and achievements of their newest team members. The festive luncheon served as the perfect start to what promises to be another outstanding year.
