This spring, the Friendswood ISD Education Foundation (FEF) celebrated the latest round of scholarships awarded to Friendswood ISD (FISD) educators through the Foundation’s Continuing Education Scholarship Program. Now in its third year, the program continues to invest in the growth and development of FISD employees by supporting their pursuit of continued education and advanced credentials.
This semester, the Foundation awarded $21,700 in scholarships, thanks to the continued generosity of Drs. Sara and Glenn Freedman, whose initial gift in 2024 helped launch the program, along with a donation from The Allstate Foundation and a tribute gift from the Wren family honoring the legacy of longtime FISD educator and administrator, Dr. Jean Wren.
Together, these contributions continue to strengthen FEF’s mission of supporting teacher
recruitment, retention, and professional development across the district. The program supports a wide range of professional learning goals, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees; graduate coursework for Dual Credit instruction; Alternative Certification Programs; and National Board Teacher Certification cohort memberships. These opportunities benefit not only the individual recipients, but also enrich the educational experience for FISD students districtwide.

As FEF looks to the future, the Foundation remains committed to expanding the Continuing Education Scholarship Program and deepening its investment in the educators who make Friendswood ISD exceptional.
